At Gretchen's House Foundation, we offer three grants in support of high quality early education. Applicants must be represented by a Quality Child Care center with a Great Start to Quality rating of Enhancing Quality or above to apply for support. Please explore the following possible types of grants and guidance :
Teacher Support Grant
Professional Development: Designed for educators that seek to advance knowledge in high quality educational training for early childhood development, these grants support educational endeavors. Proposals should highlight the area of study and how this will enhance the teachers ability to create higher quality education.
Teacher Exchange Program: Centers can apply for funding to support teachers going to other centers to learn from and to teach high quality child development techniques.
Conferences and trainings for staff: This could include funding to support travel, funding to pay for substitutes or funding for conference fee.
Family Support Grant
Designed to support families who need access to quality child care or are in need of support services that are not covered by funding support services. Requests must be submitted by a center with a rating of Enhancing Quality to submit support for families grant requests.
Possible requests could include:
Emergency Continuation of Care: In times of crisis, organizations may apply for emergency funding to address urgent needs or unexpected challenges for families.

Please refer to the grant application to ensure the families have reached out to all available resources before applying for emergency funding.
Funding to access a classroom teacher for a neurodivergent child.
Other support services that families may need that are not covered by a service.
Quality Environments Grant
Possible requests could include:
Projects: Designed to fund specific projects that demonstrate a clear objective and measurable outcomes toward impacting high quality improvements. This funding requires a detailed proposal outlining the project's aims, costs and the impact it intends to achieve.
Programs: To support ongoing programs and initiatives within established organizations. Applicants must provide evidence of the program's effectiveness and outline plans for its sustained success.
Capacity: Aimed at strengthening an organization’s infrastructure, these grants can be used for training, technology upgrades, or strategic planning. They focus on enhancing the overall effectiveness and quality of environments for the organization.
Innovation: opportunity that will support enhancing a center's ability to offer high quality education.
Each grant type comes with its own set of guidelines, and eligibility requirements. We encourage prospective applicants to thoroughly review these specifications to ensure their proposals align with Gretchen's House Foundation's priorities and goals.
